Alto Studio Tuscany is a non-profit study abroad program that is offering $20,000.00 in scholarships for students to live and work in Lucca, a ancient walled city in the heart of Tuscany.

Featured Classes

  • Film/Video
  • Digital Photography
  • Sound Recording for the Moving Image
  • Italian Cinema History

At the Summer Lens Arts Study in Italy, you’ll learn about your craft from the pros, experience visiting artists and even have your work shown in Italy and New York. Apartments will be provided as well.

Some people have a list of things to do before they die, and coming to Tuscany will teach you not just how to be a filmmaker, but how to live. The Alto Studio Tuscany Summer Arts Study in Italy is an intensive Film/Video/Photography program during which the participants will make films.

In addition to Digital Video we introduced 16mm film to our students who shot and hand processed their work in traditional chemicals as well as an experimental roll processed in Green Tea. It looks great!
