Colorado Film School Clubs & Organizations

Our screenwriting club enters its fourth year of fostering excellence in writing here at CFS.  Members and non-members alike can bring in their scripts for table reading and feedback in a fun, friendly atmosphere.  We are a working club led by students for students and dedicated to helping filmmakers grow as artists and storytellers.

In addition to workshopping scripts and concepts, FADE IN has also sponsored screenwriting contests, movie nights, and Shorts Bash – a film festival and hilarious live stage performance.

While we hope you can come regularly, if you can only make it once a semester, that’s perfectly fine!  Any student is welcome at any time.  Feel free to stop by and learn more about the beautiful and demanding craft of screenwriting. Check with our Head of Screenwriting and Producing Associate Professor Will Hicks for updated meeting times and place at william.hicks@ccaurora.edu.

CFS Photography Club

The Photography Club is a place to learn about still photography in and out of film school, supported by our Head of Producing Faculty Will Hicks. We offer opportunities to learn how to shoot food, insects, indoor and outdoor settings, in a collaborative atmosphere. Students can practice their skills at our numerous events and see their work promoted on our social media outlets.

Meetings vary semester by semester. Email william.hicks@ccaurora.edu for updates.

CFS Producer’s Guild

The Producers Guild is a place to network, receive resources and support, and learn more about the film industry in and out of film school. We offer mentoring programs and collaboration, as well as outreach and educational opportunities. The Producers Guild features guest speakers ranging from industry professionals working in Colorado and beyond, to the faculty and staff of the Colorado Film School. If you are looking for a producer or assistant director, want to learn what a producer does, or are looking for support for a project, this is the place. We make things happen.

Meetings are typically every-other Thursday, 6pm in Room 142 at CFS. Times/dates are subject to change. Contact the CFS Cage for updates: (303) 340-7325.
