CFS Orientation

Film School Orientation

At the beginning of each Fall and Spring semesters the Colorado Film School (CFS) holds a mandatory orientation for incoming students. This is a chance for new students to learn everything they will need to know before starting classes as well at meet and mingle with faculty and students.

The day will include an introduction to the school, a tour of the facilities, networking with other students and faculty, training on our equipment check out software, and of course food! There will also be advisors available to answers all of your questions. Due to the nature of the networking and training opportunities we are providing for the students, we request that only registered students attend this event; no guests. We hope this will be a fun and informative start to your film career.

It is mandatory for all new CFS students to attend the Film School Orientation, students who are unable to attend will have to make arrangements to get the information and training at another time.

Students must be registered prior to Film School Orientation.

Questions are welcome.

Note: There are two orientations:

  • CCA New Student Orientation (completed before registration – required only for first-time college students) – Read more.
  • Mandatory Film School Orientation (completed after registration – one scheduled day the week prior to semester start)
For students who absolutely cannot attend the Mandatory Film School Orientation on the scheduled Thursday prior to classes, Make-Up Orientation will be held on the first Friday after classes begin at CFS, Room 135  Lab. The Make-Up Orientation will be abbreviated and no faculty meet and greets provided – only training on our equipment checkout system and student resource guide. Call 303.340.7337 for details.

Come in the front door and someone will be there to direct you to the classrooms.

Lunch will be provided after the orientation.

Students are encouraged to bring something to take notes. We have free Wi-Fi for those wanting to use tablets or other electronic devices for notes.
