Filmmaker Internship at Sierra Club

The Colorado Sierra Club is looking for two filmmaker interns to assist us in creating engaging short films that promote our mission to preserve, protect, and enjoy Colorado. The position would assist in all aspects of video communications and contribute to planning and storytelling. The filmmaker internship is designed for a leader who is looking for a hands on internship, that gives them a chance to work directly in their field of study.


What you could be doing:

  • Contribute to the telling of meaningful environmental stories within the state of Colorado
  • Develop and implement independant ideas and work on projects proposed by staff and volunteer leaders
  • Create visually appealing pieces of Colorado outdoors and people who work to protect it
  • Deliver videos and photos that succinctly and clearly tell a story
  • Oversee the editing and post production activities to create a high quality final project
  • Staying up to date with news cycle and develop project ideas around relevant issues


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Knowledge of videography, photography, and camera equipment
  • Expertise with post production editing programs (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere etc.)
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Knowledge and background with environmental issues is a plus, but not required!


This position is unpaid, though college credit is available. Start date and hours are flexible. Located at Sierra Club Colorado Chapter headquarters in downtown Denver.
