Following the success of last year’s inaugural edition – which saw us invite three talented young filmmakers to join our team for a 12-month internship – we are bringing it back in 2019.

We are offering one or more up-and-coming filmmakers the chance to undertake an all-expenses paid filmmaking internship in Sydney, Australia to learn amongst our amazing in-house video team and be mentored by renowned professionals from the film industry. It’s an incredible opportunity to get a foot in the door, learn new skills, develop a showreel, and experience first-hand what it’s like working in a professional creative team.

Dubbed ‘Master Your Craft’, the internship will give budding filmmakers the chance to hone their skills as part of RØDE’s in-house video production team and be mentored by renowned industry pros across a variety of filmmaking disciplines (from VFX, cinematography, and editing, to sound, directing, and creative storytelling). Across the 12-months, the intern will learn everything there is to know in the world of film and build an impressive showreel of creative and commercial work. The intern will be involved in creating around 3 pieces of video content per week, from 15s Instagram stings to long-form documentary productions, all while earning a wage and living in Sydney.

The internship role sits within our core video team, and will cover a wide range of skills, including filming, editing, grading, and direction/production.

To be considered for the internship, applicants simply need to submit a 1-3 minute film that tells us who they are and why they are the right person for the opportunity, while displaying their filmmaking skills. What we are looking for is creativity and to get a sense of their potential as a filmmaker.
